Just moved to Lake Forest last week. My best friend and I came here to celebrate my move and for my first food experience in the area it was awesome. Amazing customer service, which seems to be a thing of the past anymore, spot on recommendations. The store was spotless even on a busy Friday morning. Our food was perfect. Perfect flavor, perfect portions, perfect pricing. We left happy and I bookmarked this shop. I will definitely be back to try that sandwich you guys also suggested! I love working right by Bagels & Brew. It's my go to for breakfasts or lunches. The staff is all really great and friendly. They have ample seating and a super nice patio. I love the picture on the wall of the employee holding the portafilter. This is one of my favorite businesses in LF.
Love the jalapeño and cheddar bagel! Also, the fresh squeezed orange juice is so good (sells out quick though)!!
Well, today is the day that I realized my favorite bagel is a cheese and jalapeño topped one. With the addition, of the garlic and herb cream cheese - This was my choice this morning. This combination could've been hit or miss. For some reason, all the flavors together hit the ball out of the ballpark! It was absolutely delicious to me. Each family member chose a different variety of bagel and cream cheese too. There were many choices. Service was patient and friendly. The ambience, atmosphere, environment, the vibe was very pleasant and outside seating was very inviting as well.
I have been coming to this location for 20 years, then moved away like a fool. Was recently back in town and made a beeline for my favorite place for breakfast. I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. First and foremost, I've always loved their rustic cafe vibe that celebrates coffee and good food. The kitchen is always hustling to get food out fast and hot. Gotta love that. We luckily came at the right time...no line! Got my favorite breakfast ever, the Baja scramble (no green chilis) with a toasted spinach & herb bagel. Food came out quickly! Was actually surprised because it typically takes roughly 15 minutes or so on busier days. The scramble was utter perfection...pepper jack cheese melted on top, perfectly diced red onions, crispy bacon, chunks of tomato and cilantro. This must be what heaven is made of. Every bite was utterly scrumptious, gooey, savory and fulfilling. I love the herbaceous flavor of the spinach and herb bagel...it's a perfect complement to this scramble. My only issue is that I ordered it toasted, easy cream cheese...and it was barely toasted and I took off enough cream cheese to spread on two other bagels, easily. It was a total waste. I know a lot of people love their coffee here but it's typically a pass for me since I'm a very high maintenance coffee drinker. My husband was the standard black coffee and thought it was robust and delicious. Excellent and friendly service.
